Baby Kilt With Plaid, Highland Games Outfit, Halloween Costume, Scottish Clothing For Baby, Holiday Or Christmas Outfit, Kilt With Sporran

I have created an adorable Scottish Kilt with Plaid for your littlest Highlander to wear.

I designed one for my very own 14 month old son to wear at his first Scottish Highland Games this year. It was an absolute hit and I decided I must share the joy of this one of a kind Scottish inspired Baby Outfit!

This outfits base, the kilt and plaid, is available in a variety of plaids. When you are placing your order please put your chosen plaid number in the “note to seller” box. In America we would call this cloth or material “plaid”. However, in Scotland the pattern of the cloth is called “Tartan” and the term “Plaid” refers to the piece of tartan cloth or blanket slung over ones shoulder. This Kilt is fashioned in a traditional style so you will find the pleats on the back side with the front of the Kilt being two overlapping layers. The Kilt is secured on Baby with one long strip of Velcro across the belly, making it adjustable to your tiny warrior.

I’ve attached to the waist of the Kilt a length of chain mill belt that is hand sewn onto the Kilt and Sporran. The Sporran is a traditional part of Male Scottish dress and is a pouch that is used in the same way as a pocket. However, for our wee wearer this Sporran is strictly ornamental and is not made to carry items, sorry boys no haggis in these pockets 😉

I would also recommend purchasing some blue face paint. However, if that’s not possible do what I did for this picture! I didn’t have any face paint on hand, so I used a washable nontoxic marker… Lol! It actually worked out great, it didn’t smudge like the face paint I used before. My son sat very still through the process and it only took a couple minutes.
